Good morning residents of Sunday and welcome to September āļø āļø āļø
I know I just made a speech about my deep love for August, and I stand by it. September, though, must be the most agreed-upon best month of the year. It always makes me laugh when Iām talking to someone about their city, and perhaps the question of the best time to visit comes up. Theyāll get that Iām-about-to-let-you-in-on-a-little-secret look, and say, you should really visit in Septemberāitās beautiful. And Iām like yes u guys thatās because September is objectively excellent donāt act like u invented September!!!
But I donāt say that, because what makes September incredible, no matter where in the world you find yourself, is one topic I will never tire of hearing about. Please share the juicy details of what makes yours exquisite.

Joy blaaast
Joy-blast winner! The transition from August to September has challenged me this year, an experience I am coming to understand as common for parents as this season, once again, becomes marked by the return to school. Nova started school for the first time a few weeks back, and watching her bravely struggle to adjust to a new environment has been harder than I thought possible. So when our nanny1 Alex left this in the fridge as a weeknight treat, I almost lost me marbles with joy. I highly recommend zooming in to get the *~full menu experience~* she created for Bo and Novaānot only hilarious but so impressive given the random crap from my fridge she used as inspiration. Just woooow.
Runner-up: Nova picking raspberries straight from the vine. She was obsessed and I get it!!!
Reads, cooks, shorts!
š Though our fam hasnāt yet gone deep in the universe of childrenās TV, Iām looking forward to when that time comes exclusively because of what Iāve heard about Bluey, and
ās essay The Emotional Architecture of `Blueyā was the perfect lead-in. Such a delight.š„ I am not trying to rush us into fall here people but if you find a chilly night upon you, this sausage tortellini soup from
for NYT Cooking was very easy, very delish, and has green stuff in it!𩳠Inspired by this postās suggestion that the end of each season is the perfect time to assess whatās in your closet, I looked back at what I loved wearing this summer and these shorts topped the charts. Theyāre a blend of hemp and organic cotton and wearing them always made me feel like Iād just gone surfing. I have them in a seafoam color that appears to be no longer but Iām digging the vibe of this galaxy blue š
A poem share
No poem this week, but Iād recommend forgetting where you left your phone for six-to-forty-five minutes and spending that time standing outside resolutely without it. Thatās poem enough for me.

I too love summer and never enjoy seeing it come to an end. However, I welcome traveling in September when kids return to school and the travel crowds disappear. September is one of the best times to travel.
